They may be mushrooms. Some strains form primordia in the jar. You will read here only the PF strain does this but I have seen Equadorians do this in the jar. You should be able to tell they are smashed mushrooms.

You're absolutely fine... I posted to this place asking about the exact same thing 2 weeks ago when my first crop ever began fruiting. I've since had all my cakes give me these wierd, ball-shaped shrooms. (I'm growing PF, by the way, and have seen a large portion of my shrooms look funny.)
