Don't worry about the temperature drop. Everything you describe seems very normal. Wait until the white spots are like 50% of the visible area, and shake the jars. In my experience with B+, "ropy growth" is something which is not really visible in jars. What you describe has been typical with me.

Make sure to get the temp back to around 82-84 though for optimal growth speed..

Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm using the PF cakes with a forced modification; It seems that vermiculite has been found to be carcinogenic and is no longer carried in my city! So I found an alternative to vermiculite. I've used vermec before and know roughly how it behaves... so, that's what it is. I can't remember the exact name, but I'm sure if one were to google vermec alternative it would pop up.
Anyhow, thank-you for both of your quick replies, I appreciate it a lot!

I don't think this will be a problem. Btw, vermiculite which contains asbestos is really cancerogenic. There is a safe vermiculite with no asbestos, maybe this is what you have.

Growth slow's down when mycellium reaches the half way point in the jar's due to a increased elevation in CO2 level's, this is normal. I incubate my jar's at 18c for various reason's, one being higher tempature's favor bacterial/mold growth more then mycellium.
But the tempature drop won't harm them aslong as the CO2 remain's around 10,000bpm's and they are not interduced to any light, when they are near finished you can invert the jar's to allow a CO2 drop, this will be the final stretch before your jar's are ready to be birthed. When mycellium first begin's colonizing it likes high Co2 level's.
