Casing humidity / Simply less perlite?

Hi!
I have a perlite-based FC with a 98%RH, and I am soon going to case a few PF cakes. I was wondering, can I just take out some perlite to lower the humidity to 80? I have about 3/4'' of perlite at the bottom of my FC, so would removing 1/4 of an inch do the trick?
Thanks!

i dont think it is necessary to drop RH.
after pinning begins it is more important to be vigilant about FAE.
high Rh+high FAE= OPTIMAL
good luck G

Why would you want 80% humidity? Mushrooms want 95% to 99% humidity with lots of fresh air. Use four to five inches of rinsed, then well drained perlite. RR

Is fanning three times a day enough? Like, each 8 hours.

Four air exchanges per HOUR are recommended. I'd suggest fanning three times per day, and drilling a hundred or more holes in your terrarium to get you by between fannings so you can leave for work, play, etc. RR

I don't have that much polyfil haha, by the way, is polyfil an obligation? Are simple holes dangerous for contams?

NOPE!
FC does NOT need to be STERILE, that is most likely an impossibility. And as it has been stated numerous times, FAE is your best defense against contams...
RR just posted about his moded FC. It is quite a departure from the old 'seal it and sweat it' mentality. there have been a few posts about its success... SEARCH IT!
good luck bro.
