I agree that they are Gymnopilus, and I know of no members of that genus that are poisonous.

totally, those are honestly for me the hardest of all fungus to eat. Just the thought of that bitteryness makes me cringe. best bet, is to cap em up, or swallow them whole.

Ive eaten gyms. Theyre horribly bitter. even in tea from my experience. not that powerful though unless its a good bluing one.

and Coon, for your drug tests, if theyre making you take piss tests, mushrooms dont appear on regular company screenings. Unless they do a Laboratory test which takes a large sum of money.

Phenylethylamines do and that would include peyote or mescaline. Also Nutmeg and mace will show up as phenylethlyamines, which is what they are chemically.

The standard drug test do not show psilocybine/psilocine or LSD which are indols.

While peyote, san pedro and mescaline are indols, they ar also chemically related to speed so they will show positive for those drugs.

99% of the gyms I picked had no bluing,but all were active.I can't say that yours are active because we found them in different regions.here's a pile of active gyms that look quite like yours,no blue on any.

Also please be minded that there are also kavalactones in this mushroom i which is so bitter, most do not want to eat them.

The other compounds in the Gym mushroom are the same found in Kava Kava: the Pacific Drug (Piper methysticum). SO some may get high on the Kava compounds and others on both or on Psilocybine/psilocine.

theres pretty much no tests that test for shrooms. those are so incredibly rare. most people/employers wouldnt want to waste the money on something like that. and if its probation then yeah you made a good choice.

There are m tests for mushrooms if the person requitring the tests asks for them.

parents, judges, District Attorneys. They can ask the court for such a test.

well I cooked them up: made a tea out of them and the brew was so disgusting loking and pungent that I immediately tipped it down the sink disposal!! I'm not that desperate!!

I do hear they have different alkaloids in them than the regular psilocybian mushrooms though, so if anyone can come up with an alkaloid extraction/consuming method that doesn't involve a pile of gross smelly crap then I'm all ears...

One of my Darker Trips was on about 7 grams of Gym Spect's
And one of the best trips was on about 8 grams.
I literally laughed for three solid hours!
They do indeed taste like shit and even worse when you burp them an hour later!

Id say its not a thing of being desperate..
Its a mushroom that needs to be experienced in order to try and understand the Magic...;)

Besides the tryptamines they contain kavalactones which are not tryptamines,. And those are only in G. spectabilis.

As a cautionary note I'd like to add that there have been some concerns linking kavalactones with hepatic toxicity:

Although the reported cases are minor compared to the amounts of kava consumed each year, it is still interesting to note.

Hey Curecat, do you have any more pics of those G. luteofolius you can post? I think I have spotted them around my area before, but didn't have a camera at the time and it's hard to find decent pics of luteofolius to refer to. I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one to benefit from some good lute pics.
