I just started growing about 5 days ago .. so my substrate jars have been sitting out for about 5 days . one of them appears to be ready to be put in the terrium.. is this safe?

p.s. the jar is completely white no other color

Explain a little better please. Is this jar fully colonized? You were too brief in your description of your situation.

If you just innoculated your jars they should be in an incubator in darkness until they're colonized.

You should wait at least 7 more days to birth them once the cake is 100% colonized.

Good luck...doesn't sound like you're doing it right though...

Might wait till you see knots/pins forming, then you can be SURE theyre ready to birth. But if it looks 100% colonized, its probably ready.

all other jars are doing picture perfect ... exactly what they are supposed to do .. its just that one .. it appears to be fully colonized in only a week.

Colonized in 5 days.... This probably isn?t mycelium then.
I guess it?s mold.

Sounds wierd - 5 days. Maybe cobweb???
is it gray? Or white?

Thats what everyone told me - if it grows extreamly fast - its probably cobweb.
