found a huge stable about 1/2 mile from my house and they pointed me to the oldest poo pile with their blessing. Got about 70 liters and then went to talk to the horses :]
So, old guys,my plan is to inoculate 6 quarts of manure with 1.5-2 quarts of spawned grain and case with 50/50 peat/verm.
Does that sound like a recipe for success?

Make sure you have a thermometer stuck into the center of the substrate. Maintain 140F to 160F (60C to 70C) for at least an hour in the center. That's going to take a long time in the oven. Air is a terrible means of conducting heat into a loose substrate such as horse manure. RR

it actually smells worse outside since we are downwind from the fairgrounds and they're setting up for the first horseshow of the spring - fresh manure is not so pleasant as nice aged stuff :P

hm, call me crazy, but i found baking horse shit to be a slightly more tolerable smell then boiling horse shit.
not to mention you avoid the whole moisture content tight rope, which has thrown a person or two....
good luck man.
