it might seem like a stupid question but what would happen if you inoculated a jar with two different species of psilocybe cubensis? or if you had two fully colonized cakes of different species and put them in the same casing

you mean different strains of cubensis species don't mix strains kinda of do.

the two strains will compete for substrate and the better will win. they will not mix to make a half b+/half Puerto Rican like you had hoped. they will either be b+, Puerto Rican, or a little bit of both, but never combined.
