Waterlogged BRF Jars

This is beginning to frustrate me.
1/2 pint jars are made according to the PF Tek recipe with 1/4 cup BRF, 1/2 cup vermiculite and ~60 ml of water. I mix each jar's substrate, then place it in the jar with a verm layer on top and screw the lid on. I place professional grade masking tape over the innoc holes and apply two sheets of tin foil over the lid. I place these jars on bands in 1 inch of water in my PC with a towel. The water was not even touching the bottom of the jars for this PC. PC'd for 1 hour at 15 psi.
Jars are waterlogged to hell. Why? What can I do to avoid this?
I never had this problem when I was using a large pot to boil them (before I purchased a PC) and I have never had problems with contams. Should I just get rid of the PC and go back to my tried and true pot?
Blargggghhhh!

Focus on the ~ 60ml of water-- adherence to a tek will get you far... but adjusting it to your conditions will take you the extra mile...
Keep up the good work, and don't be afraid to experiment/tweak a little...

Did you use course verm? If so, it doesn't hold as much water, so you have to use less. I use 60 cc with fine verm and it's perfect. The mixture should feel dry when you load the jars. If the jars were totally out of the water, that rules out water from the pc getting in, so they must have been too wet when made. RR
