    #677053 - 06/13/02 04:31 PM (21 years, 3 months ago)

howmuch rye do i need for pint jars? Rye expands with water, right? So how much do I need for a Pint Jar, halfway full?

Anno how do you ever get that tek to work for you? Just from the pics it looks way too moist like it will contam soon. My grain appears dry but has good interior moisture the only way grain has ever worked for my fire ants.

Exactly the same question I ask Una, he uses 100g rye and 130 g ( ! ! ) water, while I use 105-110 g water.
It works, belive me.
And if it doesn?t, then keep this sentence in mind:
"It?s best to make a batch of test jars when one acquires a new grain for instance 100g rye and 100, 105, 110, 115 and 120g water.
Then you?ll see which water content provides the best result."
