    #6770342 - 04/10/07 01:53 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

I feel like a salmon cause it's SPAWNIN' time!

Anyone spawning to straight coir today as well?

Are you planning on sprinkling any Lime or Ph buffer into the coir? Or are you spawning to straight coir only?

I spawned to a coir; verm; lime (80:16:4) respectively 3 days ago and have had great success.

So that's mostly coir, the amounts of each were supposed to be quite a bit different, but, a dash too much hydrated lime throws the PH meter way off.

So that's why I have such an odd Ratio.

Yes, straight coir...no buffering.

Just wanting to do a side by side thing if anyone is spawning today.

Hey Professor_Mudd, what type of PH meter do you use?

Is this one by Rapitest reliable?

To tell you honestly, I threw away the packaging of my meter long ago, and all the unit itself gives as its name is "PH tester" on the front and "made in China" on the back, plus a few minimal instructions, but it has served me well.

It looks similar to your pic. only it is a solid unit, in other words, it doesn't have that coil of wire before the meter itself.

But I would have to say that a meter is a pretty simple device, one should be as good as the next.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Is it accurate?

I've read on some a bulk thread here from the Shroomery to stay away from $20 ph meters.

Has it served you well always?

i use a little gypsum, and coffee in my coir subs.

they stay at a even 7.0 and my ph meter doesn't use batteries either.

No Batteries needed.

Sounds great, but looks cheap.
