Left in Pressure Cooker too long...still OK?

A friend of mine was cooking up some cakes and had something happen that's never happened before. The water in the PC ran out and the cakes cooked for a while (maybe 10-15 mins) in a dry cooker. Afterwards it smelled faintly of burnt. Should he pitch the cakes and just start over, or will they still work just fine? He's nervous the nutrition in the BRF was lost, or that the moisture content of the jars might have lowered due to the dry environment they were in. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks in advance

I really over-did it once, and went for an hour over on my time.
Not only were the jars uselessly toasted, but so was my PC.

I'd err on the safe side and call it a loss-- if nothing else, you likely sapped a lot of moisture out of them at that dry temp-- sorry-- gotta keep watch!

If you've got an AA one of the best investments you can make is a toggle replacement.

It has the same threads as the vent pipe that comes with most AA's and acts as a safety precaution by venting at around 22psi. So you're still protected from overdoing it at least a few different ways.
Edit: I forgot to add the best part...it loses hardly any water on cycles well over two hours. In fact, I did 4 1.5 hour cycles with the same water that was barely covering the bottom of the pot on the first run.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to tell him he should scrap what he's got and start anew.
