Drying chamber

I really dont know if i am posting this in the right place but anyway... mushie season is just around the corner for me and i am thinking about making myself a drying chamber. I searched this site and almost all of the pictures were simelar to each other, somewhwere along the lines of this.
now the only problem that i can see is that the desiccant is at the bottom and the water has nowhere to drip. Hence water and desiccant mixed in together. so i have an idea of my own...
now the chamber at the bottom that holds the water and desiccant is a certain brand that 'rids the air of damp...ness'. The only thing i have to worry about is cutting a nice circle in the bottom of the ice cream tub and sealing it nicely to the top of the other container. any thoughts or modifications you would make to make this idea easier/better?? PS if i make it today i will post pics of the finished product.

dont worry about the water thing. the pic on top is good but remember u need a lid that will make it seal airtight.

oh yeah i know, i forgot to draw a lid. but won't it matter if the water mixes in with the desiccant?

The desiccant absorbs the water, thats the idea. Fan dry them first, then put them in a tub like pic#1.

yeah that's obviously the idea or else why would i be asking this. what i'm saying is would it be more effective at absorbing water if it wasn't soaked in it? if it were dripping into something, then the desiccant would be dryer, therefore more absorbant. The reason i think this, is because the container i brought from the shop to absorb moisture from the air is set up so it drips all of the water away from the desiccant (like the bottom part of pic#2). If this wasn't the case wouldn't they just sell the stuff in a small tub or bucket?

You also should keep the aparatus in a cool (not cold) place, so the absorbed water does not evaperate and rise up.

the water that builds up does not evaporate.

Wow… in addition to turning people into crazy eyed sex fiend jazz fanatics, apparently marijuana also turns people into engineers.

That sketch is rad!!!
Intense- The water does not drip from the mushrooms, slowly the air pulls moisture out of the mushrooms, and transfers it into the very dry desiccant. It will not drip from the desiccant, thus, there is not need for a drip compartment.
Furthermore, you may already be aware, that you must fan or air dry mostly before placing into the desiccant chamber, or the mushrooms will rot. I also like to seal bits of silica gel in pouches made from coffee filters, and throw that into the bag/jar/container with the mushrooms. Keeps everything nice and crisp.

ahhh i know where i'm going wrong, for some reason i'm thinking that it is gonna pull a lot of moisture from the mushies, but as you said they are pretty much dry before you put them in so there won't be much water build up. hey being an ex bong smoker i am always thinking of contraptions for shit like that
