Westchester County Narcotics Investigator Dies
    #6768889 - 04/10/07 07:05 AM (17 years, 10 days ago)

http://www.1010wins.com/pages/345867.php?contentType=4&contentId=404638]http://www.1010wins.com/pages/345867.php?contentType=4&contentId=404638.....................Posted: Tuesday, 10 April 2007 7:43AM..........WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The death of a Westchester County narcotics investigator who became sick after a major drug bust has been deemed "in the line of duty.''

Stuart Cohen died Sunday morning in a New Jersey hospital after spending about four months suffering from an illness that his union believes he contracted during the raid on the $1 million ring.

Investigators union vice president Richard Bock says Cohen came into contact in some way with heroin or another chemical that made him very ill.

Weeks after the bust, Cohen began to have stomach pains and headaches, and checked himself in the hospital. Bock says Cohen ended up on a respirator and in a coma.

The cause of the death was never announced. There are no records of an autopsy being performed.

Sounds like some BS to me. Its amazing how they will speculate that it was drugs that killed him, yet are unwilling to prove it. You would think an autopsy would be done right away, that way they could really pin it on those evil drugs...of course, what would happen when the autopsy found he died from natural causes? I mean, you would think that in 4 MONTHS of suffering, they would have done enough blood tests to determine if there were drugs present too...

yeah, because "coming in contact" with heroin can kill you a couple weeks later. that happens all the time.  :smirk:

We all know that, but dont forget the majority of Americans buy into the drug propaganda bs that is out there. To them, this article is just further inspiration to rid the world of those awful chemicals we call illegal drugs.

They really ought to put their money where there mouth is. If exposure to something drug related was the cause of death and the man was professionally trained to investigate said drugs, doesn't that indicate that the available protection and/or training was inadequate? Some spouse or family member should have a negligence claim against the county for the death of this man.
