THE SETUP:
6 jars were prepared with filter disks.
Medium used was WBS, prepared/sterilized in the usual way.
All were inoculated with 1.5 cc of B+ spore water from a well-shaken, single syringe under a professional-rated flowhood.
Germination occurred in 5 of the 6 jars.
Two weeks later, myc is growing nicely in 5 jars... however one jar still has nothing.
I don't understand... how could this happen?

Possible contam, possible that you used the asshole of a spore syringe and didn't get any/enough spores in there to germinate. Hard to say, it may even be a late bloomer. Shake those syringes.

try and waft the jars smell to you, it's always a bad idea to stick your nose right over something that's possibly contaminated, but if you have to be as careful as possible. If it doesn't smell like grain does after it comes out of the PC, if it smells sour and nasty, you have a bacterial contam.

Hmmmm... right now it's a wait-n-see if the stubborn jar yields anything interesting at all.

Yup, happened to me. Out of 8 PF jars, 3 came up with nothing. When I re-inoculated them, two started up, one didn't. I tossed that one, even though I didn't smell anything suspicious (just got rid of the substrate, put in some new stuff and inoculated again, things are going fine).
Just put it down to a witch's curse and start over.

I have had some colonize the inside portion of the grains then finally colonize the outer visable portions. but I was patient and kept the jar isolated from the rest while waiting.
