Jar lids for agar innoc

My friend has some colonized peroxide agar, some shouldered jars and their lids, a bag of polyfill some RTV sealent and a tyvek painting suit. Using these materials what would the best method be for making a grain jar for agar wedge innocualtion (substrate is rye).

I like to use the metal-disk and band lids that come with the jars. They do rust over time but it's never caused a problem for me. The reason I prefer them over the plastic jar lids is: 1- You can use the disk rubber side down and it will create a seal so that you can Tip LC jars without them leaking. 2- With the disk you can unscrew the band leaving the disk in place. Then when you transfer an agar wedge to a jar or grain or LC you can just quickly lift the disk and drop in the wedge or tissue clone. Exposing the jar to open air for only a second short amount of time. 3- They come with the jars so it doesn't cost extra
As far as how you set up the lid. Either drill two 1/4" - 3/8" or just poke them in using a scratch awl or similar pointed object. You can put RTV silicon over one hole..making sure to get ample amounts on both sides and on the other side silicon down a piece of tyvek or stuff with polyfill. You don't need the injection site if your transferring wedges and one larger hole seems to work well because it's faster when stuffing full of polyfill.

Then I'm guessing polyfill is his best bet because putting the tyvek over or under the metal lid will still require him to open it anyway and it could be ackward the metal band is taken off. He doesn't have a drill and just uses nails to make the holes. Is a hole the size of a quarter to big for fae? I guess I'll tell him to just stuff the holes with polyfill and take the band off and quickly lift the lid for the agar wedges, put the band back on, shake and incubate.
P.s. He has a bag of coir that was left over from when he hydrated a whole brick. It doesn't smell rank or anything but theres no chance in hell it can be completly sterilze. If it is re pasturized will it be good to use or do metabolites from whatever is growing in it commonly kill shrooms?

I have read all those and they are for syringe use. My friends just gonna copy the wbs one but without the innoc hole and try to be quick throwing the wedge in. Can anyone answer my question about the coir?

Yea I have read all the teks, you wouls follow everything with the acception your taking the lid off and droping a wedge in (in a still air box or in front of a flow hood)
you also can either make an LC from the wedge, or make a slurr on the plate.
If the coir was hydrated then left to dry, you be fine by just repasteurizing it.

The coir is still kind of damp as it is in plastic. It was put in the oven for a while to dry it a bit though.

I guess the only thing that can be done is to try the coir and see. Is it better to add your casing right after you spawn or to wait for it to colonize first? Is gypsum a good ph buffer?
