I have a sporeprint from a mushroom that was growing on pine needles and dirt. If I wanted to grow these mushrooms in a jar, could I just put pine needles and dirt? Or would I need to put something else? Probally a dumb question but im new to this and im not sure.

Dont you got better things to do on easter?lol I honestly dont know what you can grow these on. First off some more info is gonna be needed. Like is this a cube in question or some other kind of mushroom, you need to ID it and make 100% sure it is ok to eat and such, then after ID'ing it use the search to find out about cultivation. At the early stage you are in (as am I) reading any and everything is your friend as there is MUCH to learn.

I hate to just be one of those "You have allot of reading to do" type of assholes but really man you have to be a bit more specific.
In theory if this mushroom grew on nothing but dirt and pine needles than it should do fine in a jar with only said dirt and pine needles, this theory should have worked for the frog I put in a jar with a stick a leaf and a grasshopper as well but he didn't fair so well, lesson learned.
There is a TON of information right in front of you on how to grow just about any mushrooms you like, although as a new grower your best bet is not going to be with something unclean you brought in from the wild, specimens from the wild are dirty and must be cleaned up on agar quite a few transfers in before you isolate something clean that you can culture on grains, from there to substrate and than to case,to fruit, etc,
Its a long game and you would be best to get your hands on a PC and than read allot, read different teks and see what seems to appeal to you as many mushrooms can be grown many different ways, read and follow my Sig and than read some more, keep your eyes open and start gathering supplies.Read ,search, and come back with more specific questions and we will be more than glad to offer advice and help when we know what to answer
Good luck and welcome to the Shroomery
