Just reading up a lot on getting drugs in the mail lately, since I've got some legal rc's coming, still worried about the "analogue act".. anyway I decided to get a mailbox at a mailboxes etc.. It is a street address and they sign for packages for you and ideally don't look inside them, I find it unlikely. Of course there is always the risk, but it's one I'm willing to take and since I have no fixed address if the shit hits the fan I'll probably know in advance (tracking number) and be able to get rid of what needs to be got rid of. The mailbox leads to me but at an address I don't live at, a place I lived for a while when I got my drivers license in another city.
So anyway I thought I'd tell a story about a close friend of mine who got busted with a kilo of coke.
He was sick and tired of being poor, driving pintos, working shit jobs, etc. He is a very smart guy with a degree in physics but he didn't want to go to grad school or work in a lab. This was in the eighties at the height of the cocaine craze, and he decided to take a trip to Miami. He made a lot of mistakes but please don't point them out, it should be obvious. He got a good deal on a kilo of coke, and was going to take it on the plane. He was going to conceal it, figured he'd be fine on a domestic flight, but right before he was about to leave he freaked out, got paranoid, and decided to go with UPS. I bring up this story because I have seen people saying that it's okay to send stuff by ups.. I don't really agree. USPS needs a warrant and most employees just don't give a shit, if you are lucky. So he bundled it up real tight, deodorized it as best as he could, and went to ship it. This was before the days of xrays everywhere and the patriot act, so he thought, yeah UPS, private company, what do they care about busting me? They just want to make their money, right? So he shipped it to his house on the west coast.
So he shipped it, but he was really nervous. He found out later(in his trial) that the guy working the counter didn't like the way he looked so as soon as he went out of the office he ripped it open and called the cops. Notice that in UPS, DHL, Fed Ex offices have signs posted "WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO OPEN ANY PACKAGES". So the package was delivered, he immediately saw that the product was not legit, and he, panicked, gave it to his girlfriend and said, just drive! He doesn't know why he did this, yes it was dumb, no you don't need to point it out. In the end he ended up taking the fall to keep her out of jail, even though it was a joint project. I should also point out that this guy does not use drugs, he just gets nervous easily sometimes.
Anyway, his girlfriend drove, and realized that about 9 unmarked cars were following her, so she turned down a cul de sac, they all followed, and jumped out with guns yelling. So she got arrested. I guess they were trying to see where it would end up to see if they could bust anyone else.
Anyway, the guy thought about it, decided against running, turned himself in, said that his girlfriend had no involvement. His mom mortgaged her house, got a good lawyer, and he did about 8 months (first offense) in federal minimum security. His sentence was longer but there were loopholes, he ended up in a half way house for a while, then on probation for a while, played it smart, and now he can vote again. But needless to say this was a horrible experience.
Moral of the story- DON'T MAIL DRUGS. If you do decide to risk it, at least make an attempt to disguise them in or as something else. Also, try to send them to a neutral address, one that is not directly connected to you, if this is possible. Seal up every crack in the box and make it look as legit as possible. If you do decide to use UPS or a private agency, use a dropoff box with a fake name on the return address. This way there will be no one to testify against you if something goes wrong, and possibly no way to prove you sent it. If possible, also get a tracking number so you will notice any unusual delays and respond accordingly. Send domestically and try to use ground rather than air mail. The mail is on trucks then and there are more likely to be dogs at airports(though still fairly unlikely.) Try the cayenne powder trick..
well, I just thought I'd throw in my two cents since I have seen recommendations to use private carriers. I just read another story by somebody whos buddy got busted by Fed Ex with some bud. Sad world we live in sometimes..
