ID help on minnesota find......
    #675264 - 06/12/02 05:27 PM (15 years, 6 months ago)

Ok, so I spent a few hours chillin' at the university campus, and there are mushrooms everywhere! It's been cool and wet, so I suppose that's why. Anyway, here' s my latest finds....any help with ID?

Found growing in grass under trees....these were the only ones like this I found. They're very fleshy, solid stem, veil still attached, so no print...

These have brown gills, a hollow, fibrous stem, and a dark brown print (very dark brown), and were also found growing in grass.

The big, cream colored one has a hollow stem, veil remnants on the stem, and a cinnamon colored print. The smaller brown ones also have a hollow stem, but leave a dark print (either dark brown or black, it's pretty faint so hard to tell). The caps had a lighter colored ring around the top, like the belted pans (subbs? foenisecii?). The caps flare out at the bottom, reminiscent of mjshroomer's pics in the "comparison subs to foenisecii(photos)" thread. I'm guessing they could possibly be foenisecii? Both of these types were growing on wood chips, although I also saw the cream colored kind growing under pine trees in the needle litter.....

Here's a small but colorful shelf fungus

Here's all of 'em together with a couple of prints...

As always, thanks for any input. Shroom hunting is such a blast, even though there aren't any funguys here in the frozen north Thanks to the cool crowd here that turned me on to this most excellent adventure......

I am not sure but i thought the amanita's had light spore prints which would rule out destroying angel on that big one. It does look like one though. i wouldn't eat it. No ideas on the others. Happy safe hunting.

The smallest ones look like Panaolus sphinctrinus or campanulatus.

the first cluster appears to be some kind of cortinarius, sorry , that's the best i can do on it, they don't grow here. the smallest ones, based on the grassy habitat and the spore print are most likely P. foeneschi. (spelling) common mower mushroom, inactive.
no clue on the white one, but unlikely to be edible, and certainly not active.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES EAT ANY OF THESE! ! ! !

Oh yeah, I probably should have specified.....

I NEVER eat anything I pick. Maybe after a couple of years of hunting experience, but now? Not gonna happen.

Just curious, that's all.....and thanks for all the input
