The strangest thing I've seen in a while.

Alright. Explain this one! I was checking on another 'grow project' of mine and I noticed something sprouting out of the soil:

Hrmmm? What the hell is that? The fruitbody is solid yellow throughout. I dug at a bit and the mycelium is about 90% yellow with some white sploching here and there... And then I noticed... FIVE of my potted plants are growing this yellow mycelium. But the only fruitbodies are the ones pictured here.
I don't know how this was introduced, maybe it came in the bagged soil I bought. Dunno...

Extremely common. I see those in houseplants all the time. In a year or two it will be sprouting cubes if you keep growing those. RR

I don't understand, one species of mushroom can't just metamorph into another species of mushroom can they?

basically, it wont morph. the cube spores will be all over your house, if you keep growing them... so they will eventually germinate in your houseplants soil, and fruit out of them if they have the right nutrients.

Wait a min here,so am I gathering this correctly that just because so many cubes have pukes spores into my air due to me not getting them in time they will now fall right into the soil of houseplants and grow mushrooms an their own, damn I'm gonna have to just go buy some random plant....I mean I wouldn't care if it grew one mushroom I just want to see it grow on its own, kinda just a tribute to me for making such a nice place for them to grow that now I don't even have to try and they just grow cause they like it here
