Which is better?
    #6748236 - 04/04/07 08:46 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

I've read that oyster shell is better when it's in chunks.
I've read that oyster shell is not good unless it's thoroughly ground.
I've read that calcium carbonate powder is better than oyster shell... but not oyster shell flour...
AND, I've read that calcium carbonate powder is better than oyster shell flour...

I've read that they are the exact same thing, and that it really doesn't matter which you use...

I've read that calcium carbonate is better because it's more soluable... and I've read that its better to use oyster shell for the exact opposite reason.

So much information, and a lot of it conflicting...
I'm so confused!

I have both... oyster shell flour AND 100% calcium carbonate powder.  Oh, Shroomery gurus, which is best for peat-based casings?
