How much Perlite?

how much perlite is needed in the bottom of my terranium to keep the right humidity?

2" perlite and 1" water should be fine.

I find an inch of perlite with no standing water will keep my fruiting chambers well humidified.

It really depends on what 'the right humidity' is....

If you're working with cakes, bassplayer74 is right on the money. Spread it all across the bottom. If you're working with casings, you want 85% RH roughly, so you don't want hardly any perlite at all.

You probably could have found this answer by searching this forum for a term like 'perlite', BTW.
