Cased this not too long ago and just noticed some weird fuzzy shit on my vermiculite patch. Contam?

That looks like mold. I'd whack it with some 3% hydrogen peroxide and see if it melts away. It doesn't look like mushroom mycelium or it would be rising from below. RR

cool, problem solved.
but after putting my casing outside for a while (no more than 3 hours) i brought it back in with this weird green shit on a few places, mainly on the casing soil. i left it covered, so i'm guessing it's some kind of mold activated by the sunlight? it isn't fuzzy or anything, just a green layer over some mycelium that was just starting to poke through.

is this going to be a problem?

Get that tray out of your grow area. It's belching mold spores all over the place.

You can probably get it to produce a few fruitbodies, but the damage will be worse than the gains. If you don't throw it out, you put your future grows at risk. Chalk this one up as a learning experience.

Move it outside. It will recover if temperatures have warmed up. Bury it in a hole with some bagged cow manure from the nursery. This has all been covered thousands of times, so nobody wants to type it all over again in detail. Do a few searches and you'll see what to do, which is toss it outside immediately. RR
