Yeah-- and perhaps a bit of peroxide sparayed on that area to stave off any airborne contams...

Best luck-- 3/4 tray of healthy shroomie goodness is always better than 100% green brick!

I hear people also add salt to the contaminated area once scooping it out being as salt is a natural antiseptic...

it was very small contaminated area. 1/2 penny in size.
I dug out a good chunk of it away with a spoon dipped in rubbing alcohol. It didn't seem present underneath the layer but who knows right.

I'll keep ya guys informed.

Green mold is a monster, I im really really certain that a few days after scooping it out you will see a bright white fuzz I mean it will be BRIGHT WHITE and marshmellow looking, this will be the green mold starting back up.. I have waged war with it many times..

I alwasy squirted the effected area down with tilex often.. May kill some sub but it holds off the mean green for a while too..

It is a battle that cannot be won only delay you will see! but FIGHT IT if you want.. just DO NOT ALLOW IT TO TURN GREEN.. you can use salt, peroxide, bleach, alcohol.. I dont think any of it will 100% kill it.. but these are your weapons.

You shouldn't dig out those spots...Just dump some salt on the spot, wait till the mushies mature, and toss that mess.

Best answer of all. And while you wait for the mushies to mature, move the tray outside. Never try to dig out mold, you only spread it.

Well, checked up on it today and it showed its face again.. One side is growing mushies the other not.

I poured salt over the infected area, but are the mushies going to be even edible?
