I had something very similar happen today. Only, my jars only got to 90 degrees. I'm a little worried. An experienced reply would be good here.

98 isn't enough to kill mycelium i believe. I think it's 120 to kill it, i'm not sure though. I picked cubys fruiting in south Texas at 103F.

according to TMC death is at around 106, but I think that that is at a bit low.. i have been above 108 with NO problems.. so, dont worry so much..

ThunderFuck is right...according to several references I've read over the years...120 degrees is the concensus for thermal death of cubensis. The high temps increase metabolic activities and cause the mycelium to slow growth. Data indicates that optimum is about 84 after that...89 for example is like having them in at 78 degrees...as far as mycelium velocity goes. Ofcourse we all know that the shrooms would have more vitality and would be more potent at 78 than at 89 degrees.------------------ Peace, Love & Light
