To thouse who are famiar with Terence McKenna's work. Do you think this can realate to the hexagram found in the I ching ,and how the I ching runs in sync with the universe? I wonder if you count inward on these rings of hexagrams found in this formation of saturn if you will find 64 layers of hexagrams. I figured i would trow a wild card guys and do some speculation, but either way this is a cool formation. I didnt know such large geometic formations acured at this size in nature.

Yeah, alot of scientists minds are pretty well blown by this too...
No explanation for it at the moment...
Which should show you how well science works, since nobody is making up explanations on the spot and claiming they are correct, as would happen in religion or some other pseudo-science...

Sounds like magnetism control to me... though I have no idea why I'm under this impression...

It's a stop sign....!
Meaning that if any human actually gets out that far, they should stop and turn back now....
""Saturn Hexagon. This nighttime view of Saturn's by Cassini's visual and infrared mapping spectrometer shows a bizarre six-sided hexagon feature encircling the entire north pole.""
Says four Earths could fit into it.... Interesting....

Very neat.
But are repeating geometric patterns really that uncommon in ice forms/frozen environments?

Sure, but definitely not on this scale!

Saturn is not frozen.
Nor is it ice.
Whats so suprising is that due to the physics involved, shapes like this really shouldnt form. Most of the storms or formations we see on Saturn or Jupiter are spherical...

Before everybody gets too excited, this is nothing 'new':

The honeycomb-like feature has been seen before. NASA's Voyager 1 and 2 spacecraft imaged it more than two decades ago.
... still, very intriguing.

looks to me like theres lots of darker spots maybe vortex's of spinning gas?? there is 6 closer in but as you go out notice the airstream rings with a higher count of the vortex's

> maybe vortex's of spinning gas??
One would expect such an event to produce rings or spirals, not hexagons.
> shapes like this really shouldnt form
Exactly. Very intriguing... obviously something is causing the shape to form, but what exactly, is certainly a mystery to me. It almost looks like some kind of wave interference pattern, but what would cause it to form, no idea.

sure if there were 6 big vortex's close to the pole notice out farther there's more but they just cant form a hexagon because they are too far from the pole and there's too many , but they are there
