Got some pics. Here are 2 of my 5 1qt jars (Brazilian, BRF/VERM method). No signs of contams. They are taking a while to colonize they started at about a week and a half after inocluation. I think the reason they took so long to start is because I didnt have any air exchange at first. Im going to case with 50/50 peat verm and hope to get some good results!

2nd pic looks good, 1st pic is heard to tell, but from what I can tell looks good too.
Any other colors besides a nice bright white growing?
Is that quart BRF? I've only done grains and can't remember if you're supposed to shake those.

Nope you have to let them fully colonize then dump them out into a ziploc (or some such method) to crumble them up before casing them.

QUART BRF JARS?!?! Damn I wanna know (when they finish) how long it took exactly. I'm guessing these bitches are gonna take FOREVER. They look to be going nicely just make sure you let them get covered on the inside before you try and fruit or case. Good luck keep us posted.. Peace J

it may be easier just to fruit directly from the jar as they are not tapered and will be a bitch to get out of the jar

When its done colonizing take a spoon and scoop it all out then case it. What are you trying to accomplish with this jar? Are you gonna case? Because I know this wont be a cake even if you try.

ok just a suggestion. If your going to use quart jars use rye instead. Works ALOT BETTER and is more potent. But if this is ur first might as well have some brf verm experiments!

i'm wondering how are you planning to get them out of the jar? you might have to scoop it out abortion style.

i haven't made a pf cake type thing yet. but...is there any reason why you couldn't make a "shakable" quart jar with brf/verm ? ...fill the jar say 2/3 full with the brf/verm mix and put a grain jar type lid on it. eg.tyvek between jar and lid, a polifil filled hole for GE and another with a self healing port.
after months of reading i've never seen it tried or advocated. i'm sure there's a reason why. i just haven't been able to fathom it. any ideas

Im going to spawn to coir. and then case 50/50. Should I try spawning half of them to coir and then case, and then just case the other half w/o spawning.. as a 1st timer expermient.
