Fresh seed should not be that fragile or brittle.

They are(at least some of them).... Accidentally broke of a piece of one of mine... It is fresh seeds; green/yellow inside(Actually it's the fact that I know this that makes me upset) I'm germinating two right now..:D

Hmmm....Only reason I disagreed was memories of trying to grind and crush those seeds to extract. Didn't seem all that fragile
Good luck growing em though!
Are you using nitrogen fixing bacteria with them?
Makes a BIG difference in getting them established.

I've had 2 different sets of Anadenanthera seeds (think both Colubrine but I hear that most A. Peregrina are A. Colubrine) and one was not fat but containing a decent quantity of plant matter (not shell) and not at all fragile but the other I got this year for growing were really brittle and thin. None have germinated.

i think the brittle ones are just dry ones....i am starting to think that once they dry out they are not good anymore (for growing). i have yet to sprout a single dry one (i have tried about 70 this year...), but in the past had good success with "freshish" seeds (green/yellow inside).
