Jar storage, Heat or darkness

OK this time I have read the FAQ,s and conducted several searches. My jars are being kept at about 72-74 deg. in total darkness. Things are going slow (I would like to get the temp. up to at least 82 Deg.) and I have read that the use of a heating pad can dry out the jars. I read a post about the use of a light with a reflector to increase the temp. but have also been warned that light will cause premature pinning. I'm a bit confused as to how to proceed.
Someone please clear things up for me!!!!

I use an electric blanket wrapped around the incubator and I have no problem with dry jars. And yes you should incubate in total darkness and get your temp to around 84 degrees....

What type of container do you use for an incubator?

Big Sterilite. 25 gallon I think, with weather stripping around the rim. The blanket basically lines the inner walls and the jars sit in the middle of the incubatur a minimum of two inches from the blanket so as not to overheat. I used to use a reptile pad but I recently burned it up and I don't feel like paying for another one.....

Could a light bulb be used in the container as a heat source if the jars were covered with dark cloth to keep them in the dark? Also why is high humidity needed if the jars are sealed at this point? The lids are tight and the holes in the lids are taped closed.

Ripple - listen to what others have said
1) don't use a heating pad 2) a light isn't going to heat it enough for proper temp
humidity doesn't matter when your are trying to mycellium - after the mycellium network has been fully established humidity comes into play
check out this - doesn't cost more than $35 to set up and it will keep your jars incubatin/colonizing at the correct temp http://www.fungifun.org/pf/incubator.htm

i use a large heating pad from walmart ($16) and a few bricks on top of that (like 2-3" from heating pad to box)) to keep the jars (in their boxes) well enough above it to maintain temps between 78-84. i keep the heating pad on low and leave them in the dark.

The fungifun.org server should be back online in a few days.

Try using a big coleman cooler (kinda pricy, get the generic, it doesn't matter :O), a 50 watt fishtank heater (about $15 or less) and a glass jar (free if you like Prego.....). Use the fishtank heater to heat water in the jar, and your grow chamber will have friendly temps and humidity....
