Myco-Bag Colonization Insecurities!?!?

Well, our first two myco-bags,containing Ecuador and Puerto Rican strains, were around 90% colonized when we took them out, and after three weeks of waiting we found no signs of fruiting. We pretty much gave up on those. We are now colonizing two other bags, one with Mazatapec, and the other with Puerto Rican. They've been in there almost three weeks now and we are unsure if it would be safe to take them out of the heated area and let them begin the next step. What signs should we look for telling us that its okay to move on??? We do know that they are 100% colonized, but we are still a little nervous. Any advice would be much appreciated.

If they're 100% colonized, and you're sure they are... Move them and let them fruit. Also.. The bags that didn't fruit would make for good casings.

I am pretty sure that they are 100% colonized, but just to be safe i need some key indicators that would tell me that they are that far along. Anyone know what details i should be looking for in the bag? Thanx

Don't count out those first two bags.....if everything is alright with them they WILL pin...sometimes it takes awhile......the bags are like growing invitro but they have more room to grow and the gas exchange is a little better i guess. Certain strains have a harder time growing invitro but I think from what I've read that almost all strains will pin invitro..some may just take awhile....give it all time and everything will work out...

A good sign is.. All the substrate is covered in mycelium. ;D You may try cold shocking those other bags, btw. Dunno if those strains need it or not, but its worth a shot.

Put those 1st two bags aside and check on em when you think about it... I'll just about bet my left nut that they will eventually pin and produce for you. I had one bag take over a month to pin after it was 100%... I think the filter patch was not working poperly, but anyway... Don't count em out yet...
Also... I just looked in on a 2 1/2 month old bag that never did germinate last week. I was surprised to find it had managed to somehow germinate about 2 months after innoculation, and was at about 25%... It's now at 100% and looking great. I can't explain why it happens like this, but I can tell you.. Don't throw those bastards away unless they smell, or you see contams.
Good luck,
Ankh

I'll bet both nuts that those first two bags will still produce!! For incredible results, dunk them and put them in a hydra-pod.
