Crossfire is not supported sadly. Apparently running the gpu client on crossfire'd cards run slower than on a single gpu.

Damn you guys and your multiple servers and computers and all I'm not one much to talk tho, Since I am running a gaming machine and 3 separate instances of F@H. 2 GPU's and 1 Quad-core Processor. I could up the bill some and open the closet, build a few computers, get em all online and just designate whatever I build to F@H. After looking over all the specs for the GPU processors I have a feeling I can add up to 3 more GPU's if they all are still in working order and up to 6 more processors for a total of 12 active processors. Something tells me I just need to call my friends with PS3's and have them put my name and the shroomey's team number in them, then there would be no stopping me Something tells me that anyone running F@H on their PS3 has the best chance of winning this prize.

Heh, I had a GPU client go down for a while on Sunday, now we're even.
But don't be slipping, you may have taken the lead but I have an emergency backup plan...

cpu's and PSU died replaced both with some 4 core ones. I saved these for a emergency, didn't have folding in mind, but this is a emergency!!!
For a system with 8 cores I would just run the smp client twice correct ?
Well she is up and running and the cores are roaring

Running 2 instances of the smp client produced some really weird results for me, like having 4 cores active, but the context switching was INSANE, like the threads were jumping between processors. was weird. but yeah I believe thats all you can do. I would think that you could just specify 8 cores on the smp client, but I guess not. Emergency backup?? haha, amazon e2c anyone?

Okay, Crossfire isn't supported... Can I disable crossfire mode and still run it on two videocards, as seperate GPUs? Also can I combine my CPU with that?

i would attempt this but the fact that people can get others to put points in under there name ruins the whole thing for me
people say the ps3 rocks for this but whenever i run it, it says 3+ hours for just 1 WU or w/e its called. then i look at some of ythans days and he has 210 WU's lol its not even worth trying

My 8 core replacement is dead, she lasted about 4 hours
Grow Folding Log ================================== Day 1 1.) Early AM Node 2 and 4 go down. Node 2 had a bad Hard drive Node 4 needed new ram
2.) Late PM Main node (Node 1 ) down Needed new CPU's and PSU Few hours later still down
Day 2 1.) Early AM GPU client at comp at home crashes when you load it now.
Not looking to good in my eyes

Those are very large WU's PS3 and GPU's work a lot faster so they run larger work loads.

DRT, disable crossfire, and run one instance of the GPU client, and one instance of the SMP client, configured to use less cores than you have, so if you have 4 cores, run it on 2. I was reading the FAQ and it states that you need a free cpu to keep the GPU client running smoothly. As for ps3 users, looks like they do kick everyone's ass. Trebek, you're falling apart, but ruling this one, I can't keep up!

If I do that, how much better will it be running on 1 GPU and 2 cores vs running on 4 cores and no GPU? Is there a way to use both GPUs still?

Well, as far as I know, you need 1 core per GPU being used...so you'd use 2 of your 4 cores for GPU's and 2 regular cores, which you'd SMP.
Though I don't have that many cores running (I have a dual core and 1 GPU) so I don't use SMP either so I can't help with setup, I just know you need a 1 for 1. The GPU's are definitely worth it but compared to SMP you'd have to check.

It seems to work fine on my Vista machine, maybe there is something wrong with a driver, registry or something like that
