I updated my original post with an offer for a free lifetime supporter account. I'm reposting it here for everyone's convenience.
For a limited time, you can earn a free lifetime supporter account by running Folding@home! Just be the first person to knock me off the #1 spot on the team's top 20 producers list, and hold the position for at least a week. I reserve the right to cancel this offer in the future, but not in a shady way to screw any legitimate challengers, only if I get tired of waiting.
So get folding!

I've got a black macbook from 2007 and I completed an average of 34 points per 24 hours. Is this usual? I'm not a computer geek so I don't know what my computer is capable of. I take it that looking at other people's points, they either have super fast computers, a lot of computers, or both.

That does seem kind of low, I think your computer should have a 2.0 or 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo, is that right? Make sure you have the latest version of the client, and follow the installation instructions to ensure that SMP support is enabled. If you run the clent 24/7 and continue to receive such a low score, please reply with your /Applications/Folding@home.app/FAHlog.txt attached.

i just signed up and started folding. it's working on project 783...?
how long should it take to complete a step? out of 500,000... i'm running a 2.2GHz dual core... both cores are running 100% right now and i'm doing nothing but typing this, folding and listening to music.
edit: i can't find my FAH username on the extreme overclocking site... why?

Hello,
Funguymon, Something must be wrong. Even only running at one core you should have more points. I would try uninstalling. Then reinstall with smp support

hmm... right now it appears to be working faster this time, but I don't know if that's because this is a smaller work unit or what. I downloaded the software about eleven days ago. How could I tell if I have the SMP or not? Is it not automatic?
I'll wait on this one and see what it averages out to be. My computer completed the last one in a little less than eight days.
What would anyone else expect the average to be? Here are my computer's stats.
Model Name: MacBook Model Identifier: MacBook1,1 Processor Name: Intel Core Duo Processor Speed: 2 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB Memory: 512 MB Bus Speed: 667 MHz Boot ROM Version: MB11.0061.B03 SMC Version: 1.4f12

What's with the few months there where you were not running it? Probably have 10 of your friends with PS3's running F@H with your number and name on it, on top of your CPU's and GPU's
Maybe you can tell me how to get it roaring on my PhenomX4 9850 and my Dual SLI GeForce 9800 OC's I bought it all and sorta had a friend build and program it for me.

Hello Funguymon,
If you installed the first client from http://folding.stanford.edu/English/MacSMPGuide
You should be good!
You can run the Activity Monitor on your system which should be located in /Applications/Utilities on your system. The activity monitor will be able to show you cpu and ram usage etc.

Hello Mad Merlyn,
You can download your GPU and CPU clients here http://folding.stanford.edu/English/DownloadWinOther For CPU I would suggest the MPICH console client
"Windows XP/2003/Vista/2008 SMP client console version 6.23 beta for MPICH (32-bit or 64-bit) "
The installation instructions are next to the download link. Follow them closely and you should not have a issue.
For GPU I would suggest "Windows XP/2003/Vista GPU System tray client with special viewer for NVIDIA GPU's (installer msi) "
I followed the instructions here http://forum.xcpus.com/xtreme-folding-home/12627-guide-running-client-multiple-nv-gpus.html
Remember you will need switch your computer from multiple gpu mode to multiple display mode and have a monitor attached to every card. Little more trickier.

Can't do that, I only have 1 monitor and I use the power of both card's while gaming.

Mad Merlyn,
I'd just keep them in multi-gpu then and run one gpu client
Download the same gpu client and follow the installation directions which are also next to the download link
