Hello to all, this it is my case: I had 8 breads colonizing itself, the last week I get out three of them from the glasses. My problem is that micelium of the other 5 is completely paralyzed about 3 weeks and does not grow. By excess of humidity I decided to broke the 3 breads of the terrarium and to put them on a tupper with casing. When I brake the breads these were supercompacted and very hard. Can be this the cause of which the other glasses are not developed? and ANY SOLUTION PLEASE.
Thank You Very Much. I?m Spanish and my english is so bad. Please use simple words. Bye.

What grade of vermiculite are you using? Also, I've had a lot of probs with making jars when i first started back in the day. The best way is to 'coat' the vermiculite in a layer of BRF. When I started I actually mixed everything up at once which made it chunk up and brick really easily (for me atleast). Basicly your going to add the water to the verm to saturate it..THEN add the BRF. just my 2 cents. Dont ADD anymore water to the substrate mixture after the BRF is on, I've found this to lead to solid as a rock jars. btw, flipping them does help but I just figured I'd throw some advice. Anno's PF Tek for simple minds explains the process very well - http://fungifun.org/pf I think it might be down right now..but theres the link.

I agree. I'm following Anno's TEK and it's worked VERY well and this is my first grow ever. Just follow the TEK exactly as it's written. I too mix my vermiculite and water first then fold in the BRF. I keep it light and airy as I spoon it into the jars. Don't tap the jars to make the substrate settle...I simply gently shook the jar to keep the top layer of the substrate even. The jars will come out of the pressure cooker heavier than they went in, but don't freak out over that...it's part of the pressure process. Make sure you don't add too much water to the substrate either.
Hope it works out for ya!
Love & Light,
