Yeah I read it about 10 years ago.
John Allegro right??

From what I remember he did some translations on ancient texts, and came up with the notion that Jesus wasn't a man. He was a mushroom! His followers had orgies.
I pretty much skim read most of it, it goes into menstruation and other stuff.
I can't remember finding it insightful.

If you do try replacing the word 'Jesus' with 'mushroom' it does work in some parts of the bible.

SO THATS HOW JESUS TURNED WATER INTO WINE!!!!!!!!
