i tried to search and all i got was people asking which is better, which produces more and so on.


but my question is, for people who know how to make jars and bags, does anybody know the exact amount to this question?

12 views and no reply. either you don't know or it's that stupid of a question. it seems simple to anybody that makes there own jars. so could someone please take 5 secs out their busy lifes to answer one stupid question for the day?

Note that a pint is 16 ounces of volume, while a pound is 16 ounces of weight. I hope that sorta helps you.

If you have a scale you can weigh 1 substrate jar full and then 1 substrate jar empty. Take the difference and that will tell you how much just the substrate weighs. Then divide that into 3 lbs and you'll have your answer.

So what was it? I have always used 1 pint jars but never bothered to weigh them. I just bought 8lbs of grani (two 4lbs bags of pre-sterilized grains) and i'm wondering how to mix to bulk. I'm thinking a pint is probably about a pound or so but idk. I always do 6qt shoeboxes and I always do 1.5 to 2 pints spawn to 2.5-3 pints of substrate per box, I was hoping to make 4-5 shoeboxes out of the 8 pounds but like as I said idk, 8lbs could end up being enough 2 shoeboxes or 8 shoeboxes for all I know. usually I get 2.5-3 ounces dry out of 5 pints.
