French scientist suspects human being has been cloned in U.S.

A prestigious French scientist said on Thursday that he suspects at least one scientist in the United States has cloned a human being, reported Agence France-Presse.

During a seminar on the science of clone held at the Pompidou Cener in Paris, Jean-Paul Renard, director of research at the National Institute of Agro-Economic Research, said that in the United States no law can efficiently forbid cloning of human being.

``If this cloning was attempted and succeeded, and has given birth to a baby, its producer will wait for years, perhaps 10 or 15 years, before making it public, because he will make sure about the good development of the clone and the legislation of the country,'' he said.

But he also said that this is purely his personal hypothesis as the U.S. laboratories in the field of in vitro fertilization usually lack enough money to do so.

Renard also said that for succeeding in cloning a human being, one needs many human eggs, which means many women willing to cooperate.

You should retitle your post "French Wack thinks American Scientists MIGHT clone a human at some point in time ....maybe." It would make your post title more accurate.

can I make him into a boba fett type clone?
with a jet pack, etc?

I would want a few cause they'd probably get themselves killed left and right trying to master the home made jet pack
