stownio is correct, techno is a specific kind of electronic music. i wouldn't consider linkin park as electronic music and NIN is something like industrial rock i've heard.

try some baphomet engine, it's insane.

really though, listening to psy at parties is what you should really do.  That's where a lot of the fun is at and where you get an awesome appreciation for the music. some of the live acts I've seen far outstrips anything tiesto can do, as far as talent and track selection is concerned.

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

they were good at first. bp empire and the gathering are great albums. VD sucks for the most part but there are few songs i like.

i just saw that liquid crystal film and it was good. check it out if you like goa/psy. thanks for the link noviseer.

techno is a genre. hard techno and acid techno/house all fit under techno, though.
calling music techno is like calling zeppelin rock. yeah, youre technically right, but more specifically a lot of people would think theyre classic rock...a sub genre.


"Techno" is an actual genre, what you're calling techno is called "electronic dance music" or "EDM".

Techno = 4/4 beat, typically 120-128bpm, percussive, little/no melody, raw dance music
Trance = 4/4 beat, lots of layers, extremely melody based, build ups galor
DnB = variable beat, extremely percussive, 130++ bpm
Psytrance = variable beat, strong repetitive baseline, lots of melody, 130++ bpm
