This sounds like a temperature problem to me. I must admit unfamiliarity with the peculiarities of the B+ strain but, if you're attempting to induce fruiting at the same temperature that you're colonizing the cakes, I'd say that's your problem. You should do one of two things: either decrease the temperature by about 10 degrees when you birth your cakes (colonize at 80-85, then fruit at 70-75) or you can cold shock the cakes and cased tray by putting them in the refrigerator for about 12 hours.

Now as for your casing problems I'd suggest you try spraying you're casing with a 0.15% hydrogen peroxide solution daily until you see pins. This will provide oxygen to the mycellium and inhibit the growth of competative molds and bacteria. Just be sure not to soak the casing.

That sounds resonable Psilo. As far as casing goes You know what I do? Every casing I ever did grew all kinds of shit but shrooms until recently I started casing with about a 1/4 inch cowshit and let it colonize and then a really thin layer of peat and lime mix I bought at Wal-Mart. I haven't had any problem since. Nice even flushes with big strong mushies every time.
