If a mushroom looks relatively healthy, but has dark splotches or streaks along its stem, is it contaminated?
Thanks, SN03

The cap is a bulb shape and I cannot tell if the veil broke, but there is a tiny dark primodia below it that has the same splotch as well...so I'm guessing they're not spores.
I'm just not sure, SN03

just a curious question, do they look like water stains? I've seen that on mine after they caught an errant water drop or two during their fruiting process.

If that were the case, does that mean it's no good? Should the cake be removed?
Thanks, SN03

Water stains? I always spray a fine mist directly on em, but sometimes it'll come out a little rough. Are you suggesting they may just be a little bruised from the water?
Thanks, SN03

my friend's brf cakes had it. it is due to high temperature (30C) and bad FAE. it isn't dangerous to you. you can eat shrooms with verticillium but the disease stops the shrooms to grom and they mutate. freaky shit. the caps will get black & dark sports. the stems will look like they are splitting: green streaks.
