Can you go for 2 days without sleeping all the time?
    #6692643 - 03/20/07 07:29 PM (17 years, 12 days ago)

Im trying to fit into my busy life style a lot of things here in college and i was wondering if i can go for days without sleeping, that is skip a night of sleep and do what i need to do, then sleep on the second day, i been doing it every now and again but i want to know if i cad do it regularly?? Has it got any effect on my health if i change my sleep patern like this?

Also i might want to consider this option: when i dont sleep for 2 days next night i sleep for maybe 7 - 8 hours...

So basicly in 48 hours i spend 8 hours on sleep....

What if i only say sleep 4 hours a day, that will still be the same ammount of work hours...... question can i get enough rest in 4 hours? I think either option might work, if  the first one is no good the second option will do

I can go 100 hours, tops. It's all about self-control. You have to stop and meditate in your own way to stimulate your brain into making the chemicals you need.

Yeah, but I wouldn't recommend that most people skimp out on their sleep. It's much easier to simply sleep as opposed to putting out the energy retraining yourself.

Hopefully Jalruza can simply find more time. I've got a pretty cramped schedule myself.. it sucks. :frown:

I've known of a few people that only slept 5 hours a night and they operated completely fine. I'd say that any sleep is better than staying up for 48 hours. Yuck.

I shoot for 8 hours and usually get it (or about 7-7.5 hours) and that's cool. If I happen to only get 5-6, I can live, but hope to at least get 8 hours the next night. If I pull an all-nighter, I'm just completely fucked nowadays.

Again, I wouldn't make a habit of dynamic sleep schedules and whatnot. Consistency is key. There are a lot of hormones at work and it's best to let them run their course. Some may disagree, but I'm not arguing semantics - it's just plain easier to keep everything relatively routine (if you have that luxury... arg)

I normally only get about 4-5 hours a night during the week but make up for it by getting 10-12 a night on the weekends. I know that doesn't really "make up" for the lost sleep but I am simply saying that yes you can operate on 4-5 hours. It is not advised, but is possible.
