Advanced Q, for experienced shroomer
    #668875 - 06/08/02 12:41 PM (21 years, 3 months ago)

ok, i have EQs, which drop their spores WAY too early. they drop their spores before the shrooms have even had time to grow big enuff to eat.

k, my Q:
would the stalks of the shrooms still grow for teh cake, if i were to cut the caps for.

so i want to cut the caps off just before they'll spore, and put em in a glass jar to drop their spores, but i also want to keep the stalks on the cake so they'll continue to grow.

will the stalks continue to grow off the cake if i cut the cap off?

the veils are breaking early because of enviromental reasons. either too much CO2 build-up or not humid enough. its prolly CO2 though. are you fanning multiple times a day? and no you can't just cut the caps off. that will produce a rotting stem within a day or two
