check out some zeppelin songs. over the hills and far away is easy enough and translates to acoustic pretty well, gallows pole is easy, babe I'm gonna leave you is good for fingerpicking and pretty easy as well.... then get into some of the songs in open tunings like thats the way, hats off to roy harper(good way to learn a bit of slide guitar), bron-yr-aur stomp, bron-yr-aur, friends, black country woman, etc. there's some cool acoustic songs by pink floyd too....parts of the animals album especially. might as well start with the old but good stuff. I'd really recommend learning open tunings and slide...you can do a ton of stuff once you get the basics, and since it's generally blues type stuff you'd be playing, you can just keep on improving forever and ever.

Nutshell by Alice in chains is a really slow sort of song but very beautiful acoustics i find. uhh Plush (acoustic version) by stone temple pilots is good and so is wish you were here by pink floyd, basically any nirvana song from their nevermind album is easy and decent.

i think its fun to play all the heavy songs that i know on an acoustic and just arrange them to sound really cool. maybe you can try that. i had a really cool version of slipknot's left behind on my acoustic but i can't seem to play it like before.

You could learn Pink Floyd's Pigs On The Wing Part 1 and 2. They are short acoustic pieces and not too difficult to play. I'll upload them in case you haven't heard them before.

Fire and Rain by James Taylor Tears in Heaven/Layla by Clapton Blackbird always gets attention and is easy to play. Ripple is one of my favorite acoustic dead songs to play. Learn the finger style Friend of the devil and play rythm and melody at the same time. Uncle John Band is hella fun to play. Jessica by The Allman Brothers will keep you busy for a while. Shady grove is a kick ass song and melody to learn....IMO...one should be an absolute must. Rosalee McFall is one hell of a song too..Check out the Pizza Tapes or Garcia/Grisman stuff. Little Sadie is a good one to sing and play too. Also Off to Sea Once More falls into this category.

I learned Tears in Heaven last week...the chicks dig it. And I can't sing for shit and that song shows emotion without words.
Anytime I learn a version of a song specially for acoustic I always play it different than the orgininal. I try to add my own twist and style to it...Try it aswell.
But yeah. Claptopn is very unforgiving music and can be frustrating at times. Learn and little, move on, and then come back later. I find that learning 2 or 3 songs at once is the best way to go. When I get frustrated on one...I'll move on to another. Then when I come back my troubles are usually over...try it out.

These are just a few I like to play on the acoustic, also they are fairly easy. Good journeys!
