Who else dunks their monotubs?

I have tried dunking and not dunking my tubs, and I get consistently better results when I dunk between flushes. Just wondering if anyone else dunks their tubs?
Also, I live in an apartment with no yard to speak of, so I use my bathtub for my dunking purposes. I just bleach it out and put my tub inside. I use a couple half gallon jars full of water to weight down my substrate. I just use the water coming out of the shower. Let it sit for about an hour, pour water out, rinse off once, then I recase. I have to clean my bathtub a lot, but I never seem to have any contam issues. Which I think is mostly due to substrate being very contam resistant once it is colonized fully. Any other apartment dwellers have any comments?

I always dunk.. never even clean the bath tub just add water let soak and let drip.
Only time I've experienced contam's is usually way before time to dunk.

What I meant to say was isn't the chlorine from the shower water going to damage the mycellium Im not talkin bout bleaching the monotub lol.

uhh I dont know where u live but im pretty sure the water treatment plant adds chlorine to just about all shower water the only way it would'nt is if he was hooked up to a well.

if they did then my dogs would be dead seeing as tap water is the water we shower in and the water in the sink is also tap water thus chlorine in shower water=dead dogs

There are only small amount of chlorine in tap water. It isn't gonna do anything to the mycelium considering that the water from rain has more minerals in it than tap water does and it probably has a lot more stuff in it since evaporation occurs it would sooner or later pick stuff up and mushrooms still grow outside. I don't think dunking with shower water, or tap water for that matter, will have any negative effects on the mushrooms or the mycelium network.

Distilled water IS optimal for mycology purposes, but tap water works fine for 99% of people. If you'd trust the tap water to be given to an infant, it probably won't harm your mycelium.

tub in tub dunk, the casing in the bottom tub, water in the top tub t weigh it down (no holes), jam the tap down the side, leave on a trickle of water for 4 hours so water trickles out of the monotubs bottom holes, drain for two, clean monotub, casing back in and re-case. No need to be scrubbing your bath then.
