Cable converter boxes and VCR's work fairly well. I have used my cable box to incubate on. I put a cardboard box over them (jars) and cut flaps in the top of the box to regulate heat. There is a thermometer poked through the top, it reaches down inbetween the jars. Opening and/or closing the flaps adjusts temp.

Seti, as in SETI@home [URL]http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/[\URL]Its just something to give the puter to do while I'm away, plus "ya never know.." I'm up to 223 packets for total CPU time of 6,272 hours... I picked up one of those Indoor/outdoor thermometer's, the "outdoor" sensor is in the box with the jars, Temps holding at about 85F. Now its just a matter of time I offer special thanks to all the previous posts I lurked thru, Thank you! Peace /Gadget

Computer sounds good, I just used a kinda layered type contraption. In a box, I put a heat blanket, on low, a towel, the jars, and 2 more towels, that sits at like 85 all the time too, if my heating pad breaks I will use my computer.------------------ Peace Blue

Gadget, Tell me you're not with Team Art Bell. Bunch of hogs....unfair competition due to his publicity and pleas to join his team. However, I still remain an Art Bell fan.

UPS (aka Battery boxes) also work good for keeping stuff warm.

i'm surprised no one has mentioned shroomgods excellent incubator yet. just get a submersible aquarium heating and large rubbermaid tank, fill it with water and put the heater in at 86, and then put your jars on the lid with a blanket or something over them for insulation. only problem is the heaters cost about $30.
