coconut bark = coco coir?

I had the pet store order me some coco coir and I got the bark chips (1/4" chips and bigger) will this work as a casing material?

I think the coco coir is basically either the reptile bedding type or the stuff that they make hanging plant baskets out of. I bought mine at Lowes, but i have found them all over the place in the garden centers of most major stores or even in craft stores.

You can usually pick up a fairly large replacement insert of coco coir for around $5, you have to pull it apart though due to the forming of it under high pressure though.

alot of hydroponic stores carry the fine-haired coco coir you want. it usually comes in big slabs for Cheap. check out www.bghydro.com thats a nice hydro store...

Look for bed-a-beast at PETsMART or elsewhere. It comes in a brick form that is about 9" x 5" (breadpan size) . One brick is enough for a shitload of casings.
