First: I'm no handyman, but I'm getting there slowly. So building a flowhood, I believe was a good start, but could've been an expensive mistake.
Cost ~800$
I bought the fan/filter from FP, not cheap, but I had the cash.
Wood: Birch Ply- Expensive but nice quality.
Thanks to RR for helping me with wiring the fan!
Filter is 99.99 HEPA, Fan is 1000+CFM @ .8'' sp.
It works, I'm happy. Maybe later on down the line I'll produce a better looking hood, but functionality is what I'm going for.

NEW DESIGN********

much better

Good work. $800 is pretty damn pricey. Is that the norm for homemade flowhoods? I figure it would be in the $300 range at most. How much did each individual part cost? or what was the most expensive thing?

My first grow. Thanks all.

FP's Air Circulation System I Experienced cultivators understand the critical role air circulation plays in the successful growing of mushrooms. Without proper air input and distribution, there is little chance of obtaining consistently large fruitings. Fungi Perfecti has developed an air system that has been specifically designed for the home grower. This system regulates humidity within the growing environment. Humidity is maintained by eight fine spray mist nozzles, regulated by an on/off solenoid valve, which is activated by a humidistat. Through the use of evaporative cooling, a temperature drop of 15–25° F can often be achieved. Our Air Circulation System I combines air distribution and humidification in one package for grow rooms up to 2000 cubic feet in volume.
The Air Circulation System I Package Includes:
A 217 CFM Plenum Fan An in-line 300 CFM Duct Fan A galvanized sheet metal housing that can recirculate the growing room's air in whatever combination desired A metal-framed, 12 x 12 x 5.8 inch .3 micron HEPA filter efficient in 100% humidity environments 20 feet of perforated 8 inch diameter convection tubing 8 fine mist nozzles An on/off 1/2 inch solenoid valve A duct humidistat that becomes increasingly accurate at higher humidity ACS001 for grow rooms up to 2000 cubic feet $789.00

Wow That is great, but pricey. If ya got the cash for it, then have fun. I spent 90 bucks on Plexiglas, lumber, and air filter unit and made a Flow Hood, and it has worked flawlessly since 2002. Contams are a surprise, when I get them.
