ok for u taht read i lost 40 jars when i was using filter disks well these are left over jars i didnt think were contamed lol boy was i wrong on 1 of the pics yull see white contam growing right through the hole in the metal lid the rest grew right through the filter disk. nothing was gunna stop these bad boy contams they smelled so bad i had to wear a dust mask i got black,yellow,green,white,brown and a hint of red check it out

45 min on 15 psi as i do with everything else and the jars were brand new that was the first time using

That purple shit is funky! Looks like a biro leaked on it.
Damn pain in the arse losing jars like that. My freind lost 12, that was the fault of a contaminated print. She thought that was a waste of time and money, but 40 jars, that is a big shitter.

Thats horrible. Did you have a ramsey seal in the jar? Becareful cleaning them out, you never know what or how harmful those contams can be towards you.
To clean your filter discs, get a bucket, fill it with 2-3 gallons of water and put a 1/4 cup of bleach into the bucket. Mix the bleach and water together. Throw in your filter discs and let them sit overnight.
The next, pull them out and let dry.

I would stick with the vermiculite layer(no disc) if doing PF style cakes.
Also a sterilisation time of 1 hour won?t do any harm.
Filter discs are great if you work with shakeable substrates like birdseed or rye.

I use Tyvek filters and have almost no contams whatsoever (5%?). The problem looks very simple to me: You have put too much substrate in the jars! The jars should only be 2/3 to 3/4 full and NOT in contact with the filter. Being in contact could cause the filter to "wick up" some nutrients making them available to outside contams. The filters are a barrier to AIRBORNE contaminants falling on dry filter material.
As you did not mention anything about how you transferred the spores, there could be problems in that area also. I do all transfers in a new trash bag sprayed down with Lysol. This works much better than the "Oven-Tek"
Forget the ramsey seal and vermiculite. Don't make things more complicated than they need to be.

not cool at all.. i would be pissed off. gotta love all those colors u messed up real big . build a gb and use dry verm. star cleaning all your shit and dont open that shit throw it away always its $10 for more jars. hope u loved that smell 2 where u sick the next day haha.
