just wondering, I patched my first casing and am planning to do another around Friday I'm contemplating not patching it after I see mycelium poke through because of the extra time involved and what not all it does is give you a more even flush right?

Yea, patching makes it so that it gives you an even pinset, and you get the most out of your flushes by area. I do it, its not that much more work, anyways, if youre going to put additional effort into anything in life, it may as well be mushies

I had one casing that was way off as far as evenly distributed growth of mycelium - i can see how that would be beneificial, but as far as patching being beneificial when the mycelium grows evenly throughout (this may be rare) - i don't think it would be worth the extra work/ time
