NO! only for the duration of the trip. and it's a very humbling experience. when i experienced ego loss...it was a beautiful feeling. hard to explain. but it did not scare me one bit.

i was so fucked at the point that i lossed my ego that i almost did not notice. when shrooming, just greet every feeling with open arms. they want to teach you. they are not here to hurt.

Smaller doses of cubes and whatnot shouldn't trigger ego death. Don't sweat it so much. Eat a half eighth and you should be fine.
If there was such a thing as permanent ego loss I think it should be mandatory for some people, primarily celebrities.

if you accept it, you realize so much. what i realized is our life here is soo short...and we should appreciate and greet whatever comes next with open arms.

ego finds you again like a jealous lover while you sit basking in its glorious absence.

I don't want to kill my ego. It would be like killing a part of myself. I would like to lower it to the lowest level possible so it would be lost, but not dead. If any part of me is going to die it's going to die with rest of system. As for death I'm cool with it, I guess.

When people talk about ego loss, or ego death, they mean a period of a trip within which the distinction between the self and the universe simply doesn't exist. Unless you're tripping several times a week with an intentional goal of long term, or even permanent ego loss, then you won't experience anything beyond the trip. Ego loss going outside the bounds of a trip has been reported, largely in conjunction with use of "The Psychedelic Experience" (the book by Leary and cohorts, not this forum).
