When you make your own BRF, would you suggest to grind it up really fine or leave some coarseness to it?

I like to make my own in a coffee grinder. I tend to let it grind up until the rice falls towards the center of the coffee grinder. When you first start grinding it is flung to the walls of the coffee grinder and as it is grinded up finer it begins to settle in towards the center near the blade. I wait for this to occur. It results in a flour like substance with some small sized chunks here and there. Overall, I'd say mine is pretty fine. I haven't experimented with anything else. Just stuck with what worked.

I used a grinder when I was doing cakes and my reasoning was that the finer the flour the better the mushrooms ability will be to break it down and use it as a nutrient. Vermiculite, i think, has little to no nutritional value to it. Also, if you are grinding up alot of rice you might want to give the grinder a break every now and then. I burnt one out once.

Thats a great idea. This compares to the guy who suggjested turning you water heater up and using that to sterilze straw. Also, i thought the FSR went under. Does the FSR have mexicana a or tamps?

Shroom Hermit. Why are you only rated at two shrooms? I just got promoted to newbie and I am rated at Three and I don't know that i deserve them? If your rating is the average, then maybee you pissed some people off at th Thunderdome. I noticed you spend some time there.

I was at three shrooms myself and now I have 2 and I aint done jack wrong. The rating system leaves a bit to be desired.
I think you should rather forget what you see and instead just listen to what people have to say, not necessarily because they have more shrooms. Doesn`t reflect reality or Forum reality.
