Hello myco pals, has anyone ever cultivated mush with absolutly no spores produced? This is new to me, very strange. The entire first flush of these badboys had no spores produced. Gills but no spore production. I havent checked under my microscope yet but I am not even sure it has basidum. Any insight would help my curiosity. Thanks all, Dharma.

It happens from time to time.... If they are a strong fruiting strain clone em and try to hold on to them for a while...  I wish I had a nice isolate on hand that didn't dump spores all over my greenhouse when I was 12 hours late to harvest.  :thumbup:

What strain are you growing? Some strains, such as Penis Envy, are known to rarely drop spores.

If I have read correctly, it's common for some mushrooms to rarely, maybe never, produce spores. I am not sure why but it is one of nature's quirks.
